JControl Board Support Packages (BSPs)
 

On these web pages you'll find Board Support Packages (BSPs), offered as test versions for some Coldfire-based evaluation boards. With these BSPs, you will be able to evaluate the features and advantages of the JControl platform. The software is available for download as CDROM image (in ISO-9660 format), and it includes the firmware (in S19 format), the integrated development environment JControl/IDE (bundled with the simulation environment), various tutorials, examples, as well as a comprehensive documentation. It's easy to download the CD image and to write it to a CD using a standard CD writer program (e.g. Nero Burning ROM). The firmware can be uploaded to the flash memory of the evaluation boards using the Windows tool CFFlasher, also included on the CD. Then, you will be able to upload JControl applications to the evaluation boards by the JControl/IDE, using the Ethernet interface. The test versions of the BSPs are limited in their functionality, described in the board-specific documentation.

The COBRA5329KIT from EBV Elektronik & senTec is an evaluation board based on Freescale's DragonFire processor (MCF5329). While the COBRA5329KIT includes a variety of useful features like Ethernet, USB or MMC (Multi Media Card) support, it is especially well suited for graphical applications, using the DragonFire's integrated display controller.

DOMOLOGIC offers a BSP for the COBRA5329KIT, focusing the design and implementation of graphical user interfaces. The basis of this BSP is provided by the JControl platform, the embedded Java solution from DOMOLOGIC. In combination with the integrated development environment JControl/IDE it is possible to develop graphical user interfaces in extremely short times - and without getting deep into hardware and embedded system programming.

With the M5235BCC, Freescale offers an evaluation board for the MCF5235 processor. This processor excels in the area of field bus communication and signal processing with its integrated eTPU (enhanced Time Processing Unit), a RISC processor optimized for interrupt and timer driven applications. In cooperating with Freescale, DOMOLOGIC offers a pure software implementation of the ANSI/EIA/CEA-709 protocol (Lonworks).

The DOMOLOGIC BSP for the MCF5235BCC allows the programming of ANSI/EIA/CEA-709 applications in Java using the JControl platform. Additionally, a standalone tool for bus and network variable monitoring is included.
